Why a Quick Doodle is Good for Your Noodle

…. Hahahahah! C’mon, you have to admit that made you smile at least a little bit? If not, keep reading. You must REALLY need it. 


Wellness advocates rave about the science-back benefits of a healthy daily regimen:

  • Sleep

  • Nutrition

  • You

  • Know

  • The Drill

These are all great for your body, but what about your brain? What if we valued the wellness of our inside just as much as our outside? I think we should strive to be more like a fortune cookie. Yes, a strong & sturdy exterior is wonderful but it’s what lies within that holds the real treasure. (Please read the previous sentence in an ironically esoteric voice.) In all seriousness, your mind is capable of some spectacular things! And research thoroughly supports the incorporation of brain bolstering activities into the munda(y)ne.

Our brains crave things like beauty, creativity, and surprise. Don’t tune me out quite yet!! No one said you need to become the next Banksy or force yourself to endure a trip to an art gallery. Simply try adding a quick doodling or coloring break into your day. I know life get stressful and ‘brain fry’ is real! So, next time you plan a good night’s sleep or nutrition meal, maybe consider grabbing a colored pencil and give this idea a whirl.
