Illustrations Are Words Made Visual
Illustrations bring written words to life. They give faces to characters and introduced many young readers to new ideas. Whether that is a concept in the classroom or the world of make-believe. From Dr. Seuss to the Grimm brothers, kiddos all across the globe cling to the illustrations that adorn the pages of their favorites books.
To me, ‘by hand’ means ‘by hand’. Mediums may change from brush and canvas to stylus and screen, but these pieces were still created by thousands of brush strokes and a human’s eye.
